Various Balinese painters managed by Indonesian artist Zulham Damanik.
Zulham Damanik, better known as ZD, is an Indonesian artist born in Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra, Indonesia. He has always indicated since an early age his love for the arts. He particularly paints this love through strong determination and willingness to transfer his imagination using strokes of his paintbrushes onto canvas.
With his burning ambition and natural love of arts he left his hometown, Medan, in 1994 to move to Jakarta for his education and to fulfill his ambition to become an artist. After several years in Jakarta engaged in various phases of life through his realism paintings, he moved to Bali in 2004 to search for new inspiration for his paintings.
Finally in Bali, ZD was able to begin expressing his spirit through the any styles that he now creates.
Most of ZD’s paintings and ideas are inspired by the nature around him, human
emotions, sensibility, and invigoration. This inspiration is well emphasized by the titles of his paintings. Painting is a big part of his life routine. He enjoys painting mostly with acrylic colors and sometimes oil colors. ZD’s paintings bring life, literal feelings to empty rooms and each painting has a corresponding title with a sensible mood behind each design.
As an artist ZD strives for the best quality in both materials and finish. All his creations are handcrafted with great care and are coated with fine art varnish to protect the colors for extended time, and to ensure durability and protection against changes in room temperature. There is no doubt about the authenticity and uniqueness of his certified paintings.
His paintings have been collected by both domestic as well as international art lovers.
He has also conducted a number both solo and group exhibitions in Indonesia and overseas.
“Every time I pass a blank canvas I feel something explode inside of me. It is not something I can explain or pass on to someone else…but it is always the beginning of a new creation. When I express my imagination onto a canvas, I truly feel as if I am out of the world, where I sense freedom of imagination and expression. It takes my soul into another life dimension where all meaning of life is placed in every corner…” ZD
